Who are the real humanitarians?

World Vision and War Child Holland have joined voices to draw attention to the mental health and psychological wellbeing of children affected by conflict. Part of this partnership included the creation of an advocacy report, which highlighted experiences of children and young people from six conflict-affected countries; the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), South Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, the occupied Palestinian territories (oPt), and Colombia. The report will be launched on the 28th of April, 2021. On the same day, they will be presenting the findings at the Centre of Humanitarian leadership. This event is part of the 2021 Australian Humanitarian Leadership (virtual) Conference, taking place from April 28th to April 29th. Sarah Harrison, MHPSS Advisor for the IFRC Reference Centre for Psychosocial Support, will speak at this event as a panelist covering the history and evolution of mental health and how the story could unfold for future generations.   2. Share the findings of a research: Launching a report that explores the compounded impact of COVID-19 on children living in conflict-affected region
  3. A journalist perspective. as journalist reporting from the frontlines. What you have seen and what is the role of media to change the story on mental health in conflict-affected regions?
  4. The history and evolution of mental health and how the story could unfold for future generations.
