In-person IFRC training on MHPSS in Emergencies in the MENA region

The IFRC MENA regional office in coordination with the IFRC Psychosocial reference Centre, Danish Red Cross and the MENA MHPSS network are offering an in-person training in mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in emergencies. The training will take place in place in Cairo from 4 to 10 September 2022 and is hosted by the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC).

The training aims to prepare participants for future deployment as MHPSS coordinators in Emergencies in  the region or globally as part of the IFRC global Rapid Response System. The training focuses on developing and strengthening personal competencies and skills to work on community-based MHPSS programs including assessment, coordination, planning and response management of MHPSS activities in emergencies.

The training includes an on-line pre-training meeting and a six (6) day face-to-face intensive training.

The training’s pedagogical approach is based on blended learning, where participants study and hand in a written assignment online before the training. The training is interactive and problem-based with practical exercises, scenarios, group work, role plays, and case studies. The training will capture and focus on surge competencies development and assessment.
