Pre-training meeting: Psychosocial Support in Emergencies

A training for Red Cross Red Crescent MHPSS focal points using blended learning
12 to 15 October 11 to 5:30 CEST
And pre-training meeting 1 October 1 to 2:30 pm CEST

A four-day on-line course in development and practical implementation of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support strategies in humanitarian settings, including pandemics, is offered online.

An emergency and disaster intervention effort without a mental health and psychosocial support strategy is incomplete. To ensure the best possible short and long-term effects of the mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), the implementation requires specialized knowledge of a number of disciplines within the field.  The training is for IFRC and Red Cross Red Crescent Societies focal persons and delegates responsible for initiating the overall mental health and psychosocial activities and interventions during disasters.

The training methodology is based on blended learning where participants study and meet with a training buddy before the training and the on-line training is problem-based with practical exercises, group work, role plays, and case studies. Trainees must have their camera on for most of the online training time.
