IFRC Regional Office Europe and IFRC Reference Centre for Psychosocial Support have the pleasure of inviting National Societies to a webinar on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support.

Presenter: Pernille Hansen, who is developing the on-line PFA training kit

The webinar introduces Psychological First Aid (PFA) and how to apply PFA skills in the COVID-19 outbreak response. Pernille Hansen will also introduce participants to how to use the new PFA on-line training tool in National Societies.

PFA is a set of skills and knowledge that can be used to help people in distress, and it is a way of helping people to feel calm and able to cope in a difficult situation
We will look at:

  • LOOK, LISTEN, LINK – the three action principles of PFA
  • assessing and when to make referrals
  • Calming techniques
  • Hotlines – identifying symptoms of distress – over a phone?
  • Questions and answers
