Children who live in complicated situations are often protected from their caretakers from knowing what is going on. Caretakers think this is in the best interest of the child. However, we need to consider that children have a right to know what is going on around them and since they already know something is going on, caretakers should tell them. In the podcast, we discuss different strategies on how to support children and youth during emergencies which include how to talk to children about war.
