“It was such a pleasure to be able to train in-person again rather than online. The volunteers respond better to conceptual things like active listening or sensitive communication that we’re trying to teach.”

Sarah Harrison

In this episode of Heartbeat of Humanity, Communications Officer Jesper Guhle interviews Sarah about her journey to North Macedonia to conduct a training on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergencies for 5 National Societies from the Balkan Region. The training was co-facilitated with IFRC’s MHPSS Delegate for the EURO Region, Antonia de Barros Mota.

In the podcast episode, Sarah introduces a breathing exercise she used as an energizer in the training. The same exercise has previously been presented on the PS Centre Facebook page. The PS Centre publishes a new exercise every Friday. Each exercise encourages and promotes mental health and well-being through various practices. Visit the PS Centre’s Facebook page to access these weekly exercises.
